Review: Starbucks Natural Fusions Ground Coffee, Cinnamon Flavor

By

One Of My Favorite Visits In Seattle

Generally, I don’t like flavored coffee.  I am a coffee and milk kind of girl.  Not cream, not half and half and certainly not something that has been sweetened.  I love certain flavors such as raspberry, vanilla and cinnamon.  Unfortunately, most coffee that already has a flavor in it always has a stale taste to it and I find myself with buyer’s remorse every time I try a new flavored coffee and I find myself going back to drinking my favorite Bigelow brand teas.

Much to my surprise, Starbucks Natural Fusions Ground Coffee, Cinnamon Flavor was a delight to my picky palate.   The coffee itself is similar in body and taste to Starbuck House Blend which is what I normally drink.  I would call this about a medium blend with the perfect balance of cinnamon.  The cinnamon is not over powering or sweet in any manner and it gives a nice little kick to an already excellent blend of coffee.

Starbucks Natural Fusions Ground Coffee are also  available in vanilla and caramel flavors, I have not tried them yet but I am looking forward to seeing if I enjoy these as much as the Starbucks Natural Fusions Ground Coffee, Cinnamon Flavor.

If you need a reason for the extra indulgence, keep in mind that cinnamon has many health benefits and even Bret Michaels made a point of putting it into his Apprentice winning Snapple drink because of the benefits that it holds for diabetics because there are studies that are now showing that cinnamon reduces blood sugar in diabetics. For those who are struggling with their weight; new studies are showing that cinnamon also reduces belly fat.

Starbucks includes natural ingredients including real cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla in their Starbucks Natural Fusions Ground Coffee, which means you are getting some of the benefits of the natural ingredients in these coffees.

Brew yourself a cup of Starbucks Natural Fusions Ground Coffee, Cinnamon Flavor, enjoy and feel even better about this indulgence because you just might be doing something that is good for your health while you take pleasure in a fabulous cup of coffee.

Nice article! However, I love regular coffee with International Vanilla cream! I find all of starbucks coffee to have a very stale taste, and strong! Don't get me wrong I have a taste for strong coffee from time to time, only I don't like the strong taste with a stale after taste! I would be happy to pay high prices for great coffee, but starbucks, to me and some of my friends, is not all that it should be! When I traveled quite frequently and spent time at the airports, I tried every flavor, looking for something I might enjoy... after trying them all... I stopped wasting my money! It all tastes stale to me!

Hi Libby,

I know that Starbucks is an aquired taste. Given I wouldn't touch coffee until a couple of years ago and Starbucks is where I aquired that taste, I am kind of biased LOL!

Coffee is my favorite vice. I go into Starbucks on a way too regular basis, but it is the one indulgent treat I allow myself. I always buy "Latin American" as it is a medium roast, my favorite. I favor the Shade Grown Mexican for it's earth friendly appeal and it's wonderful richness. Their Christmas offering is fantastic. I tried the caramel Natural Fusions blend on a whim for something slightly different. I, too, have had buyer's remorse with any flavored coffee. I find most flavored coffees too cloying. The caramel was subtle, but I still prefer the "pure" coffee's. I have found that subsequent pots of coffee will pick up the flavored coffee scent and taste long after the coffee is gone. The Natural Fusion caramel did not leave it's caramel in the wake of future pots. I am going to try the cinnamon at your suggestion, Bel. One thing I learned in purchasing relatively expensive coffee is to not store in the frig. It changes the grounds. Starbucks recommends not buying more than you will brew in a week. I've found that they have the formula exactly right. Also, of special note, is that I can now find Starbucks at my local Schnucks, with the House Blend often on sale. On the package you will note that when you finish the bag, instead of throwing it away, you can take the bag to your local Starbucks and they will give you a free tall cup of their coffee. I do this everytime I go to Starbucks now. I rotate picking up a bag at Schnucks and maybe the next time I need coffee, I take my empty bag, buy what I need and get a free cup of joe! You don't have to make a purchase, though, at Starbucks when you come in with the bag. They will give you a cup of coffee as long as you hand them the bag. Thanks for your very helpful information, Bel. I had no idea that cinnamon had health properties.

Oh Amy,

I am going to have to try the caramel. I was kind of worried about it having that odd taste that many flavored coffees have.

Cinnamon has a ton of health properties, I make a point to have at least a little bit in some way every day. I have always loved in my coffee but didn't love that it doesn't mix in well if I just add it myself.

We don’t have Starbucks Natural Fusions Ground Coffee over here. I can’t imagine the taste of coffee with a cinnamon flavour. I like it pure (100% coffee), strong, sweet and black. I drank too much coffee the second half of last year – four-five times more than before – and my symptoms of anxiety drastically increase. So I’ve quit coffee and really miss it. But those symptoms have not yet disappear, so perhaps coffee (caffeine) did not cause it? Maybe I should try decaffeinated coffee. Or import a pack of Starbucks Natural Fusions Ground Coffee from your country? This was an interesting and well-written hub, Bel. Take care!

You know, Bel Marshall, I know what you mean about most flavored coffees. Their initial aroma always promise more than they ultimately deliver. One almost feels manipulated. So, Starbucks Natural Fusions Ground Cinnamon is different, eh?

I'm reassured that you understand the general pitfalls of flavored coffee, so I'll give it a try. I never knew about the health benefits of cinnamon. Very informative.

Thanks.

Does the vanilla fusion coffee from Starbucks have caffeine in it?
